Spring greetings everyone!
Well.. it’s 2013 and the apocalypse passed its appointed stop like an out of service bus - Here at Gaudi HQ that’s more excuse than we need to keep on keepin’ on and to party like it’s .. well.. 2013! And what a year it’s turned out to be already.
January kicked off with NYE in Australia followed hot on it’s heals by some studio time in California where Gaudi produced the new album for west coast reggae band Indubious. February saw Gaudi bring his floor rocking set (with partner in rhyme and vocalist Danny Ladwa) for the first time to India - where they had 2 great gigs at The Blue Frog in Delhi and Sulafest in Nashik; And with no let up March started with a flying visit to Costa Rica for Envision Festival! ..
Between all this continent hopping Gaudi has not been resting and in February he moved to Milan (Italy) to start work on the hugely successful music TV show ‘The Voice’; for the programme he is teaching vocal techniques and musically coaching a new generation of talent as well as providing his arrangement and composition skills to the teams. In his role as vocal coach he is teamed up with Italian rock star Piero Pelú from cult band Litfiba and together they are most definitely adding the anarchic-ecclectic angle to the show!
February bought other big news and this time from the hallowed offices of Moog Music in Asheville, NC… Gaudi is now officially a Moog endorsed artist - a great recognition from a legendary company in the world of electronic music.
The 2013 tour schedule is still work in progress but it’s looking set to be another busy one with gigs already confirmed in Israel, Greece, UK, Italy, USA and Canada and requests (TBC) from South Africa, Mexico, Bali and Japan. On this tour, along side his ever evolving selection of bass-centric dancefloor melters Gaudi will be promoting his forthcoming album ‘In Between Times’ which is due for release world wide by Six Degrees Records on 14th May. For a sneaky preview of how it sounds you can check it here..
“Gaudi has pushed the envelope with In Between Times… Follow the strong connective trail of reggae elements throughout and you will find yourself in album of ever varying favorites that engages you by turns to move with it or kick back and relax... It is a skillfully produced and beautifully crafted album where the world of analogue electronica meets emotive vocals and virtuoso instrumentalists; Deep sentiments and impassioned lyrical delivery populate a soundscape where sexy dub bass-lines shape an album that looks set to take Gaudi’s music to an even greater slice of the listening public.”
With his own solo work signed, sealed and delivered (for a bit) he is however not taking it easy on the studio front and has a number of high profile remixes and productions soon to be released and/or in the making: He has co-written and co-produced two tracks for cult dub bands Almamegretta and Asian Dub Foundation Sound System (which will feature on both of their forthcoming albums) as well as creating a memorable remix of "THE ORB & LEE SCRATCH PERRY : SOULMAN" for Cooking Vinyls. He is currently remixing tracks for the award winning ambient pioneers Deep Forest and long time UK favorite electronic acts Banco de Gaia and Suns of Arqa as well as creating a storming remix for psy-trance producer Captain Hook.
Other Gaudi tracks to look out for can be found on the soundtracks for two Canadian movies: Wakan Tanka and Occupy Love (both out in spring 2013) as well as some brand new originals that will feature on new compilations out this spring by Tip Records, Iboga Records and Twisted Records.
So as ever he's a busy man, a busy man on a mission.. and it's a mission to bring his very individual flavour of deep bass vibrations to a speaker stack near you!
Look forward to seeing you there... Thank you for your support
